Jodar Winery & Vineyards
Overlooking the sheer American River Canyon below, the steeply terraced Jodar vineyard is located near the edge of El Dorado National Forest at 2,400 feet elevation. The Jodar family literally blasted the vineyard from the granite hillside in 1985 to launch a journey, which is still in progress. In the spring of 1986 the task of carving terraces in the steep and rocky terrain was completed, and a small army of friends and relatives was recruited to plant the first 4,200 vines.

The desire to taste the Jodar family's devotion to the crush of the grape has resulted in a favorite day trip for Sacramentans for almost two decades. It is a short drive north into El Dorado County's famed apple growing region to savor their award winning wines like Barbera, Sangiovese and Cab Franc.
Boeger Winery
In its three decades, Boeger Winery has remained committed to only one standard—quality. You’ll taste this in their wines. The winery grows 90 percent of their own grapes and has stayed small enough to allow full attention to the details of winemaking. Boeger pushes the boundaries of winemaking as well, producing Merlot, when it was virtually unheard of in California. Today Boeger pioneers innovative blends and brings new and uncommon varietals to the market place.
Lava Cap
Lava Cap winery and vineyards offers an outstanding selection of mountain-grown wines that are noted for intense varietal flavors and aromas. Most of their wines are produced from their estate vineyards. Low yields, lots of sunlight, warm days, and cool nights all contribute to grapes of marvelous character.
